Chemistry and chemical engineering are focusing confidently on the future. On five days over 173,000 visitors from all over the world visited the 3,767 exhibitors in the exhibition halls in order to catch up on the latest products and technologies from chemical engineering, biotechnology, environmental protection and adjacent sectors. But it was not only the figures that added up: the exhibitors unanimously praised the high standard of discussions and contacts. The ACHEMA 2009 interfere an atmosphere of departure: “Everyone’s waiting for someone to press the Start button and then it will be all systems go”, is how one exhibitor described the prevailing mood.

ANUGA FOODTEC 2009
International trade fair for food and drink technology

Anuga FoodTec, the international trade fair for food and drink technology, ended on Friday, 13th March 2009 with excellent results. This year’s Anuga FoodTec welcomed approximately 34,000 trade visitors from 114 ountries, a figure comparable to that of the previous fair. Anuga FoodTec is the world’s only specialist trade fair whose multi-sector approach covers all aspects of processing, packaging, hygiene, storage and distribution in food and drinks production.

Facade art in the pedestrian precinct Wiesbaden
Dimensions: approx. 6000 x 6000 x 1800 mm (length x width x depth)
The sculpture consists of a steel construction of hollow sections with an outer and an inner sheet plate lining. The outer sheet plate lining was gold plated which requires a precise treatment of the sheet plates. The extensive different roundings of the design were a big challenge for the designer and our colleagues.

Building Project: ShoppingCenter Wiesbaden (Reconstruction former „Hertie Mall“)
Footbridge between the Shopping Mall and the parking garage over an six-lane broad street at the city center of Wiesbaden.
Overall length: 41 m
Overall width: 18 m
Weight of Steel: 200 t
Speciality: only one Y-stake (see picture) was placed under the middlel of the bridge.
Own weight of this Y-stake: 15 tons
Due to fire prevention and statically aspects the Y-stake was filled with concrete.
